The Weights and Measures Division is charged with the responsibility of the calibration and testing of most scales and measurement equipment used in commerce and trade to ensure equity in the market place. In addition, the division provides training to inspectors on laws, rules and regulations administered by the division, emphasizing how enforcement is to be used to better serve the citizens of Mississippi. The division also maintains the Mississippi Metrology Laboratory at Alcorn University and the Moisture Meter Testing Laboratory in Stoneville.
